Rethinking how we produce and measure value so that prosperity can be shared, enduring, and regenerative.
Hi, I’m Maia! I believe nature is foundational to lasting economic value, and I’m interested in the innovations and investment systems that turn this principle into resilient, scalable businesses. Welcome to my field notes from a life in motion – a collection of the people, places, questions, and projects shaping how I see the world.
About Me
My Case for Finance
Future Economies
Our economy fundamentally depends on nature, yet financial systems rarely account for its value until its loss becomes costly—and often irreversible. I want to help build a financial system that makes ecological dependencies visible in investment decisions, allowing prosperity and sustainability to align at scale.
I envision a future economy in which nature is treated as productive infrastructure, long-term consequences shape present decisions, and growth leaves businesses and the world around them more resilient.
My Approach
Much of the nature finance gap begins as an information gap: environmental data remains fragmented, and many institutions lack the capacity to integrate it into financial analysis. My education is built around this bottleneck, combining Earth Systems with quantitative training in Data Science and Management Science & Engineering to translate ecological complexity and community-based knowledge into decision-useful evidence. I hope to help financial institutions recognize material exposure earlier and direct capital toward overlooked sources of long-term value.
Coming to finance without a family roadmap means I have to approach the field with intention. I am seeking rigorous technical training to build from first principles, then test that knowledge through real investment work and sustained mentorship.
